Small Town Life
at home with Katie & Bob

When it came time to retire, Katie and Bob thought about moving to Winnipeg to be closer to their son and his family. But after 40 years of living in Portage la Prairie, the thought of big city life didn’t appeal to them.

Thanks to friends who knew about Meadowbrook, Bob and Katie checked out the development, liked what they saw and purchased a new home on one of the quiet coves. Now, they can drive to the city for family gettogethers and have the grandchildren stay over on special occasions.

“We love being close to our family but we didn’t want to give up the small town life,” explains Katie. “Here in Sanford, we’ve got everything we need.”

Living Their Dream
at home with Bryan & Marjorie

It was always Bryan and Marjorie’s dream to spend
summers in Manitoba and winters in Texas. Fearful of leaving their Winnipeg home locked up for six months, they chose a home in Meadowbrook because of its worry-free home watch program.

For a nominal fee, Meadowbrook’s site managers conduct regular inspections of Bryan and Marjorie’s home with a checklist designed to meet insurance requirements.

Now, from November to April, the snowbirds can enjoy their winter in Texas and feel confident that when they return to Meadowbrook, their summer home will be warm and welcoming.

“It’s a perfect situation because we never have to worry about what might happen to our home while we’re down south,” says Bryan. “Meadowbrook makes it easy for us to keep living our dream.

Time for Activities
at home with Henry & Linda

It seemed the moment Henry retired from his job in Winnipeg, the house he and Linda had raised their family in was too big. There were too many stairs to climb, too much grass to cut and too much driveway to shovel in the winter. Even the taxes seemed too high.

Looking to downsize their property and the time they spent keeping it up, Henry and Linda decided to move into a new, manufactured home in Meadowbrook.

Now, everything is on one floor, grass cutting and snow shoveling is manageable and the taxes, well, Henry and Linda are wondering why they never thought of living in Sanford earlier.

“The time we’ve saved maintaining our home, we now use to pursue our interests,” says Henry. “We both love to golf and in the summer, Meadowbrook is our home base as we travel around the province chasing little white balls.

Year-round Pastimes
at home with Darlene & John

Darlene loves to garden and John takes pride in his woodwork. When looking for a spot to retire, the busy couple was attracted to a home in Meadowbrook where space for hobbies could be built right into the property. The yard proved big enough for Darlene to have a vegetable and flower garden. From spring, through summer to fall, she’s outdoors, enjoying sunny days in the garden and cool evenings on the deck.

To enable him to work at his craft year-round, John had a specially designed workshop added to the garage. Here, during the coldest days of winter, you can find him comfortably hard at work on another piece of furniture for the grandkids or turning a bowl for a weekend craft sale.

“We have all the room we need and the freedom to indulge our pastimes throughout the year,” remarks Darlene.
